Alte Posthalterei

The owners of the "Alte Posthalterei" are lovely, and you can tell they put real passion into running their guesthouse. I’d gladly recommend a stay there. It’s a shame the accommodation reviews are mixed in with reviews for the old farm shop, since different people ran them. The shop’s lease ended a while ago, and it has since closed.

The courtyard was a great place to spend time together, and our daughter had plenty to play with. We were welcomed so warmly that we felt comfortable right away. Our room was charming and spotless, with fantastic mattresses that gave us a great night’s sleep 👍🏻. Breakfast was lovely and had that family feel, a lovely way to start the day. We had a wonderful weekend with the Kirchner family. Thanks so much, Sonja and Eckart, for being such great hosts. We’ll be back!

A great base if you want some peace and to head out exploring. The place is cozy, quaint, and the welcome is super friendly. For motorcyclists touring the Harz Mountains, it’s a real tip: you can keep your bike in the enclosed courtyard and even do minor service work there. I’ve never come across that before. Highly recommended! Addendum: The farm shop and its very unfriendly salesman are gone now.

You’re in one of the best areas for motorcycling, and the gated courtyard makes it easy to park your bike. The owners are very friendly, always ready to help, and have great excursion tips. It’s a lovely place. I don’t understand the negative farm shop reviews, since the shop has closed and things are back in the owners’ hands. That’s a good thing!
