Hotel Royal

I got a lovely surprise when I arrived at Hotel Royal on Aug 13, 2025. The receptionist was kind even though I got there after 10pm. I think her name was Katarina? The room was dated, but clean and large enough for a family of four, with a wonderful bathroom and bed. They offered apples at check-in and check-out. As a fitness trainer, I was especially pleased that Fitness First access was included, though I didn’t get a chance to use it. I’m excited to return and try the fitness facility. The hotel is right next to the UBahn, which runs to the Central Station every four minutes or so. I highly recommend it. What a treat during those very hot days in Germany. Thank you, Hotel Royal!

I spent four nights in a suite at Hotel Royal Stuttgart and had a wonderful stay. The place has a vintage look that gives it real character, almost like stepping back into the 1950s. Check-in and the rest of the stay went smoothly. Breakfast and dining were excellent, and the staff were especially nice, friendly, and helpful. Their warm welcome made me feel at home. I’d gladly recommend it.

We had a lovely two-day stay, and the continental breakfast was great. The hotel is central, with bars, shops, and other places just a short walk away. The one drawback was the bed setup: we booked a deluxe double but got two single beds and single duvets pushed together. Not ideal for a couple.

The location was great, but the parking situation was terrible. One clerk offered to show my husband and me where to park and help with our bags, and told us to leave the car across the street in a no-parking spot. She said it would only be five minutes and showed us the room. When we came back, there was a parking ticket. I had to persuade the desk clerk to speak to the manager about covering the €21 parking cost, while the ticket itself was €25. It wasn’t possible to pay the ticket using the information on it, so we had to go through the rental car company. Their €30 processing charge on top of the €25 ticket made it cost far more than the ticket alone. Don’t park in a no-parking spot, don’t trust everyone, and learn how to pay a ticket in Europe yourself. The rooms were okay, but nothing like the website photos. Never again.
