There was mold on the windows, and we felt uncomfortable throughout the stay. We ended up looking for workarounds for just about everything. When we arrived, the heating wasn’t working, so we couldn’t shower the first night and had to wait until the next evening. The apartment was cold, the oven didn’t work, and the kitchen had no knives, forks, or kettle. The internet was basically unusable for the whole trip. It was a really bad experience.

The host family was friendly, and the place was clean. The mattress, though, was badly worn, and the pillow was uncomfortable, though I know that part comes down to personal preference. There was a strong musty smell, probably from the old furniture and carpets. Breakfast was okay, but it was a shame there were no pretzels. The price felt too high for what we got. Even in holiday destinations, you can find a lot more for your money elsewhere.

We booked two nights as a family for a wedding, but were disappointed and felt misled by all the positive reviews. The room rates seemed exorbitant compared with guesthouses we’ve stayed at in the Alpine foothills. I don’t mind older furniture, but the place felt neglected, had no charm, and smelled awful. Calling it a guesthouse also seemed misleading. Beyond a rather uninspired breakfast, there was nothing else.

We had a basic, old, worn-out room in the outbuilding. The mattresses were completely sagging, and at over €135 a night, even with the poor breakfast included, that just isn’t acceptable.
