We stayed in the lovely Backhäusl for a few days and felt right at home. It’s a peaceful spot, though anyone wanting supermarkets, bars, or restaurants within walking distance should know they’re a quick ride away by bike or car. The terrace is a lovely place to watch the sunset, and the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. Inside, the apartment has everything we needed, from two coffee makers and an egg cooker to cookware, glasses, a microwave, and a fridge with a freezer compartment. The bathroom is lovely with a good-sized shower, and both the beds and living room sofa were comfortable.

We had a wonderful time, with friendly owners and beautiful villages nearby that made a great base for exploring Bavaria. There are plenty of places to swim close by, including Lake Chiemsee and the Alz, where there’s a refreshing stretch with a good area for toddlers, about a five-minute drive away. The apartment itself is lovely, built with quality materials and well equipped for cooking. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom has both a large shower and a bathtub. Kids have lots to do too, with a playhouse and toys, plus the chance to visit the chickens.

Mrs. Maier is such a warm, caring landlady, and her homemade cake is delicious. When we arrived, there were drinks waiting in the refrigerator, a really lovely touch. We spent 10 days in the tastefully furnished Backhäusl apartment and felt completely at home. The quality furniture, especially the comfortable sofa and bed, and the excellent amenities made our stay very comfortable. Nothing was missing. Ten out of ten, and we’d happily come back! 🫶

We had a great time cycling around, with lovely routes and pretty swimming spots nearby to cool off. There are lots of nice places to visit in the area, too. Mrs. Maier gave us a very warm welcome and was absolutely charming. The holiday apartment “Am Backhäusl” combines modern and cozy furnishings really well. It was spotless and perfectly equipped, and we didn’t want for anything. We felt very comfortable and would love to return.
