Parkhotel 1888 Traunstein

I really liked the juice bar, where you can squeeze your own juice, and there was also a nice coffee bar. Breakfast was buffet style, with eggs and bacon plus plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. The room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the hotel is well placed for shops and restaurants. It’s a great hotel, and I’d definitely stay again.

The location right in the middle of the city is great. This is a fairly old, traditional hotel that may have been four or five stars years ago. My room was adequate but had no real character. Evening service was nonexistent, though the breakfast team was very helpful.

We arrived late on our unplanned visit to Traunstein, and the hotel had no trouble accommodating us. The breakfast buffet was served on time and offered a good assortment; the coffee came from a machine, but was better than most. I couldn’t quite make sense of the juice press setup. The common areas have charming decor, while the clean room felt a bit dated and could use a facelift. A good breakfast rounded off our stay.

The hotel’s central spot made it easy to walk to the main sights, and the scenic surroundings were only a short drive away. It’s small, peaceful, and full of Bavarian character. The staff were attentive and very friendly, ready to help and offer ideas for things to see. Our room was spacious, bright, clean, and looked out over the town’s old streets. Breakfast was a real treat, with lots of fresh local food, pastries, and traditional Bavarian specialties. We were delighted with our stay and will definitely return.
