Best Western Plus Hotel Schwarzwald Residenz

The hotel has a relaxed, friendly feel, with uncomplicated traditional hospitality. We had good food at reasonable prices, and I enjoyed the sense of stepping back in time. The service in the restaurant was friendly and efficient, and the freshly made traditional dishes were good value. We stayed with family over Easter. Our room was spacious and had a lovely view, and the center was just a few minutes’ walk away.

The room was very large and had a balcony with a nice view. The location was convenient, and the bathroom had been updated with a modern finish. The smart TV couldn’t be used because there was no internet connection. It was an okay stay.

We were happy with everything. The staff welcomed us warmly, and our room was big with a nice view. The restaurant served very tasty food and presented it nicely. We also liked the pool and sauna area. The hotel gave us a card for the waterfalls and some other places, so we could visit them for free.

The room was large and nice, and breakfast had plenty of options. But the staff did the bare minimum and seemed not to want to be bothered. I picked this hotel because it looked more luxurious and Booking said it had a sauna. At check-in, they told us they only turn it on if you ask. It probably hadn’t been used much, because there was a sewer smell. The owner at reception charged us 5 euros for a robe that was ripped and dirty. Having to pay for a sauna robe feels like a tourist trap. The bathroom fan barely worked, making the bathroom unpleasant to use, so we avoided using it one after another.
