The location is the best thing here, right by the main shopping areas and good bus stops. It has a slight old world feel, though the rooms can be a little cold. The front desk staff don’t like to leave the desk, so it feels short staffed. There’s no room service or concierge, no irons or ironing boards, and no ice machines. The gym is basically a closet with dumbbells and a tred. The front desk lady with hair like Coolio lied to me once about a small thing, just to make it easier for herself.

I paid €60 for the night and stayed for just one day, using the hotel’s internal family and friends program, which offers promotional rates. The company website showed the regular rate that day as €120. The hotel charged €220,38 to my card without explanation. They still haven’t replied to my inquiries or refunded the extra amount, and I’m still waiting for a response to my emails and a refund. That’s almost four times the cost of one night, with no justification. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world with my family and only had a problem at this one. I don’t recommend it to anyone.

The price was pretty decent, and the location is just wow, right in the centre of Trier. The staff were friendly and helpful, though the hotel is a bit understaffed despite being pretty big. The rooms are quiet at night but could use a proper clothing cupboard, since our suitcases and clothes had nowhere to go and made the room feel messy. The small gym was clean, with a weight rack, bike, threadmill and cross-trainer. I’d like to see a proper rack with a barbell instead. Maybe then I’d have used it every day. Overall, an average experience.

The room was almost perfectly clean, but a small stain on the toilet seat and something stuck in the sink spoiled that impression. The hotel is well organized and sits in a quiet part of the city centre. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice: fresh bread, coffee, scrambled eggs and baked beans.
