Resorthotel Chalet Valley

The owner was friendly and brought us free coffee each morning. The rooms are huge, and the beds are proper king size, something I rarely come across in Europe. It's a lovely family run hotel. We didn't get to explore the area, so I can't really comment on the location.

The room was clean, which was the only good part of my stay. I was shocked by how the owners handled my questions and complaints, especially at 120 Euros a night. The booking listing said there was air conditioning, so I asked about it when I arrived. One owner laughed at me for asking, saying they didn't have it and didn't need it. When the owner's wife asked if everything was okay, I raised the same issue and got much the same reaction. I asked why it was advertised, and she said there was something wrong with me because she didn't feel hot. My colleague was staying at the same hotel and asked me to bring his invoice to his room. I said no because I wasn't meeting him. The owner's wife replied, “WHY? DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY!” That attitude toward a paying customer left me stunned. There was a bottle of water by my bed, but it cost 4 Euros. There was no notice by the bottle, just information hidden inside the book. Getting to my car at night was difficult too. The doors were all locked, so I had to walk around the hotel in the dark with no lights, basically blind. The reception was closed most of the time, so I couldn't count on getting help. The room layout was strange. The shower had no door, so water ran into the room, and the toilet had no door either, leaving it right beside the bed.

A beautiful place, with impeccable service and very nice owners. I'll be back!

A wonderful place, with rooms furnished so thoughtfully that everything you might need is there. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
