Das Gästehaus in Valwig

The main building is about 120 meters away, and the service there was excellent. In our building, the stairwell smelled awful. The room was very basic, the bed okay, and the shower drain wasn’t working properly. I didn’t think the price matched what you got. Not because of the Moselle River and the playground.

The generous breakfast buffet is always a treat, and we also enjoy dinner at the wine barn just 200 meters down the road. It’s a lovely little family business, run with real passion. The renovated rooms are a good size, and the place works well whether you want to explore from here or just relax for a few days. We love coming back to this beautiful spot on the Moselle any time of year.

Breakfast was served at the nearby wine barn, where we also enjoyed good food and wine tastings every evening. Our guesthouse room was beautifully furnished and had a balcony. We had a wonderful stay last October. Thanks to the friendly, attentive owners and staff. We’d love to come back and highly recommend the guesthouse in Valwig!

The room was the big letdown. We found the furnishings dated, maybe from the 70s or 80s, and the bathroom looked very old and cheap. It was relatively clean, the bed was acceptable, and the terrace was large. The stairwell smelled strongly of cat urine, with toilet cleaner masking it on the first floor. There’s no parking at the house, so we drove about 160 meters to the main building for breakfast. That was fine, and the woman there was friendly and attentive. The Moselle is just under 100 meters away. We don’t expect a lot, but we were very disappointed and couldn’t feel comfortable, so we left before our last night. It’s a real shame.
