We had a spacious apartment with a nice balcony, a cozy fireplace, and everything we needed. The farm was very clean and peaceful, and our hosts were incredibly kind and generous. They welcomed us with cake and fresh milk from their own cows. At the end, lovely Oma Rosi gave us chocolate and fresh jam from the farm as a gift.

The children loved the guinea pigs and all the chances to play and run around, from the play barn and Tarzan swing to the trampoline and ride-on toys. Our highlight was the calf christening. We had a wonderful time at the Schlag holiday farm and would love to return. There are lots of nearby outings, though you’ll usually need a car: Perlsee lake has a playground, mini-golf, and an Italian restaurant; Steinbruchsee lake has a wildlife park and restaurant. Churpfalzpark has a bit of a 90s vintage feel, so be warned. Furth im Wald offers the Dragon's Sting festival in August, a dragon's cave, rock tunnels, a wildlife garden, Flederwisch, and more. Some of that may be a little spooky for younger children.

We got such a warm welcome from the whole Schlag family and felt comfortable all the way through. It’s a shame holidays pass so quickly. We stayed with them at the end of July 2025 with our children and dog, after finding the farm online by chance. We really hit the jackpot. The apartment seemed recently renovated, and we loved it as soon as we arrived. Many thanks for a wonderful stay, we’d love to come back!
