Gutshaus Lexow

We loved the calm country setting at Gutshaus Lexow. Surrounded by nature, with the occasional forest animal passing by, it felt like a real break from the city and the daily rush. The owners were warm and kind, and made the place feel even more welcoming. Our room was simple but thoughtfully designed, with a lovely mix of minimalism and warmth. Lighting the fireplace each evening was one of our favorite moments. The sauna area was spotless and open for everyone to use, a lovely way to relax. Breakfast was delicious, made with fresh local ingredients and served with a smile. We'd absolutely recommend Gutshaus Lexow for a peaceful stay close to nature, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

The vibe here is a delight, and this was a five star dinner experience. We came for the Saturday night BBQ after the chef had left, which can make you wonder where to start. The €38 price seemed steep for the concept until we ate. The salad and bread selection was better than anything else in the region, and the meats were first class, cooked by the owner, who stepped in with seamless, haughty proficiency. The dessert was well made, though a last minute sprinkle of crushed amaretti, served with the coffee, would add some texture and sparkle. The cakes and team in the afternoon gave more of a sense of the skills that were missing. It's hard to judge that at dinner, though. Losing your chef is as stressful as losing your phone, and in these troubled times chefs are as hard to find as a mobile phone at an Amish retreat. We can't wait to return, and we're even hoping to plan our wedding there.

The staff took such good care of us, and Fritz the chef was a particular favorite. The food was so tasty. It's a really special place, with a gorgeous setting and the main garden at the heart of the house. There are lovely little details in the bedrooms too.

It's a lovely, tucked-away spot and a great choice if you want some peace in the countryside. The room was spacious, and the bathroom setup worked well. The outdoor seating area is so inviting you barely want to get out of your chair. The food and beverage service was okay, but could use more work and better organization. Labels for buffet items would be helpful, especially for guests with allergies. It was hard to tell what everything was, and asking wasn't easy because the team was always rushing around looking after guests. I look forward to seeing the other big shed, the car park, renovated and a larger kitchen installed, as both are needed. Anja is a lovely host and really shapes the stay at Lexow. I hope to return one day.
