I’ve stayed in a lot of places, and this was by far the worst I can remember. The room was run-down: a torn curtain, blinds hanging at an angle that wouldn’t properly darken it, and only one working bedside lamp, not the one by the cheap chair. Even “cheap” seems too generous for the furniture. The car guy showed me the room, then brushed off my request for another pillow with “tut mir leid” before disappearing. I’d booked a 4.45 airport drop-off, the only reason I chose this place was its proximity to Schönefeld airport. The price he quoted was about what a cab would cost, then he drove away. At 4.45, after a lousy night spent wondering whether the alarm would work, the woman at reception said the car guy had raised the price, and the airport trip now cost twice as much as a cab. There’s no wake-up call option and no phone in the room. Their website says to call ten minutes before arriving because there’s no reception and nobody there after dark. I had a foreign mobile that didn’t work, so I couldn’t call a cab either. The taxi dropped me at a dark house in front of a locked gate. Ten minutes later a car arrived without greeting me, and I followed it onto the premises. Stay away from this place, whatever you do.
