Jugendherberge Waren Mritz

Pretty cool 👍

The staff were especially friendly and helpful, and clearly wanted everyone to have a pleasant stay. The rooms are well equipped, and breakfast is simple, tasty, and good for a hostel. The location also makes it easy to explore Waren and the area around it.

The lakeside setting is lovely, and there are nice extras like a volleyball court and a ping-pong table with balls you can borrow. But our group of five was put in a four-bed room with a fifth place added as what was basically a mat on the floor. It didn't fit properly because of the radiator, and there wasn't much room anyway. We were also disappointed by how unfriendly the staff seemed, especially after other reviews had led us to expect better.

Our room wasn't ready at the planned 3:00 PM check-in because so many people were leaving, but the whole team worked hard to make us comfortable. We were two people, one using a wheelchair and one a walker, with O2, and both on sick leave. The care felt almost like our children looking after us at home. We'd forgotten to book food, but there was a barbecue and we were able to join in. Thanks to the kitchen and grill team for a perfect meal, and especially to Karoline (Karo), who went out of her way to make sure we had dinner. Congratulations to management for such a great team. Karo, thanks again. We'll be back! Greetings from Doris and Gerd Parpart.
