Hotel zum Schwan

The front desk staff were very friendly, and our room was clean and cozy. We picked this place for its price and its location near the amusement park, so I don’t really get the other reviews. My only complaint is the pillows, which are too worn and should be replaced.

Free WiFi was a nice plus, and aside from a few things the stay was okay. The blankets were tiny, more like kids’ size. Our room was a two-minute walk from the office, and I didn’t want to head back through the cold to ask for bigger ones. We didn’t have an iron either, but I wasn’t going to walk to reception in another building for one. The curtains wouldn’t close all the way, which felt a bit uncomfortable at night with the lights on, since you don’t know who might be looking in. I’d book again, but I’d be more prepared.

The location was handy, with parking close by, Phantasialand just a few minutes away by car, and a bakery and grocery store nearby. Our bathroom was mostly clean, though the showerhead was old. The pillows were awful, so bring your own if you can. Breakfast was okay, but don’t expect too much. It was fairly cheap, so for the price it was fine, just keep your expectations low.

The room was roomy and comfortable, and I liked the location. The WLAN wasn’t very good, and the place could have been a little cleaner. Still, I can recommend it 😁
