It’s a quiet hotel with fairly large rooms, and the price is low. The buffet food was good, as was breakfast. We were there for a team meeting with a larger group. The rooms have no ventilation or air conditioning, and the system they do have is, well, "mildly" outdated in 2025. The saunas also aren't saunas in the Finnish sense. The Maasauna has no "kiuas" or stove to throw water on, just a "fireplace," and it's only mildly hot. I've never seen one like that in Finland, though if someone likes it, great.

The sauna facilities were great, and breakfast was pretty good in general. They clearly marked a vegan section, but there weren't many options in it. The hotel has a lot of potential, though the cleanliness was lacking, and the price didn't feel like a good match for what you get. Our first room was mostly okay, but there was a strong unpleasant odor from the bathroom that spread through the whole room even with the door closed. We had to leave the window open all night to make it bearable. The first night, they only offered a spray. After we raised the issue several times, we eventually got another room for the second evening. For such an unenjoyable experience, the only compensation was a €3.50 refund on a coffee purchase. My three-star room rating is based on the second room.

We spent three days here in summer and had a lovely stay. The room was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable, though the pillows weren't. We had a reasonably sized balcony with a lovely green view, and the bathroom had both a rain shower and a hand shower. The sauna area is attractive, with several saunas, a pool, and places to relax. There are comfortable loungers indoors and in the beautiful garden, and it's well worth booking a few beauty treatments. Breakfast was good, with hot dishes cooked to order. They also take health precautions seriously, which was a real comfort. The hotel offers different types of accommodation and activities, and serves vegetarian food too. We could hear the train very clearly in our room at night, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back. Waldhotel Tannenhäuschen is a great property with a very relaxing atmosphere.

The wellness area is nice, with a range of saunas. It feels a bit dated compared with other wellness resorts, but it's still very nice. This is a lovely country hotel, a little old fashioned but comfortable and clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent.
