Apartment am Rhein

The room had plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast covered a wide range of sweet and savory options. We also had an amazing view of the Rhein. From the moment we checked in until we left, the stay was wonderful. The outside and surroundings didn't impress us when we first pulled into the parking lot, but reception changed our minds. The employees were so kind that we felt at home right away. After a long day of walking, we wanted drinks at the bar while the kids played. The staff suggested taking the drinks upstairs and even offered to have pizzas brought to our room. They really went out of their way to make our stay good. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm nearby.

My wife, our children, a friend and her daughter stayed here for about three days to visit Keuelen and Fantasialand, and they were very unhappy with it. We booked online, but there was no reception counter or information, and nobody looked after the rooms. They seemed deserted and weren't refreshed. There was nobody to ask for anything. The place was incredibly dirty, with cobwebs in the corners and a bad smell. You arrive healthy and leave sick. How can this hotel still exist? It should be demolished or go bankrupt. Sadly, this is being tolerated.

The rooms were clean, but unbearably hot because there was no air conditioning. During my stay, loud music was playing outside, and I couldn't close the windows because of the heat. There were lots of young people in the nearby area, and I didn't feel safe walking around alone.

I've been staying here for 15 years because it's handy for the Basell site, but I've never seen the interior maintained. The breakfast selection isn't what it used to be either. I'm getting close to recommending that my colleagues stay at a hotel in Koeln and commute to work.
