Star-Apart Hansa Hotel

The pillows were so cheap and uncomfortable that they gave us back and neck pain. Two of us can’t eat much in the morning, and we had to leave early, so we asked to take our leftover breakfast. We were yelled at and told to pay 5 euros for a slice of bread and cheese. It was disrespectful, rude, and unfriendly. We’ve never experienced anything like it. Never again.

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave excellent service. The location is convenient too, about a 10-minute walk from the station. Our room was clean, comfortable, and fairly spacious for a 3-star place, with a good layout and thoughtful amenities. The shower pressure was excellent. Breakfast was good, though a few more pastries, like croissants or pain au chocolat, would be welcome. The “queen” bed is two twin beds pushed together, and there’s no air conditioning, which may be noticeable in warm weather. Good value overall, and the staff looked after us well.

The room was small but adequate, with a fridge but no freezer or hot water pot. There’s no AC, so even in October I had to take the insulation out of the duvet and open the windows at night. Traffic noise wasn’t too bad. It took about 12-15 minutes to get to base when I left at 5:00, and more like 16-18 minutes at 8:00. The location is great for walking to downtown restaurants. The hotel parking was adequate, but spaces got tight after 19:00 on a weekday. At least one night during my two weeks there, I had to use a nearby garage because the lot was full. Parking at the hotel was 15 EUR per night, which seemed cheaper than the garage across the street. Staff were friendly. I didn’t try breakfast because I left before it was served, and it wasn’t included.

The rooms are really nice for the price, and everyone working there was kind. The location is great, and reception sorted out the issues I ran into, including when I locked myself out. I’d recommend staying here.
