We live nearby and have lost count of how often we've been turned away because there's an event, a function, or the place is fully booked. They need a system for locals and a smoother online reservation process.

The farm and its atmosphere were wonderful, but the service felt unfriendly. We were also surprised to be served coffee and cake on paper plates, especially since the farm makes ceramics and follows organic, sustainable farming practices.

Our country wedding at Gut Schmerwitz on September 13, 2025, was unforgettable, thanks to Ms. Zimmermann and her whole team. During our meetings, she was always composed and focused, and could answer every question. She notices the little details, has great taste, and keeps working toward the perfect solution. She became much more than a service provider to us. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the day. The cake and buffet dinner were first-class and incredibly tasty, and everything had been prepared and decorated with such care. With so much heart, understanding, and attention to detail, you made our day special. Thank you for our country wedding! Susann and Mirco

Schmerwitz village is just off the route between Wiesenburg Castle and Eisenhardt Castle in Bad Belzig. Its manor house, often called Schmerwitz Castle, and the outbuildings form an impressive, well-kept estate, though some parts are still being rebuilt. The manor house kitchen serves excellent regional food. The nearby Hagelberg is worth a visit too. It's the highest hill in Fläming and the second highest in Brandenburg. In 1813, Prussian forces, with help from the Cossacks, won a battle against the French here.

There are plenty of animals here, genuinely free-ranging, and the place is very clean with amazing food. The estate is idyllically located near Hagelberg, which is worth visiting on its own. I first came during the 30th Brandenburg Countryside Festival, and this fantastic place has me wanting to return. Go see it for yourself!
