Residenz Mühlenberg

The beds had already been made, which was a plus even though we hadn't booked that as an extra. There were plenty of problems, though: no Wi-Fi despite it being included in the booking, cupboard doors coming off, and a broken wardrobe rail that wouldn't hold clothes. The carpet and walls were stained, with sticky residue under the radiator. Some mattress slats were loose and broken. The kitchen was very poorly equipped, and the counters wobbled under a 60 kg weight. We were expected to leave it swept clean, yet it was cleaner when we left than when we arrived.

The apartment was meant for five people, and I was glad there were only four of us. It was run-down and dirty, and the value for money was an absolute joke. For that price, the condition is outrageous: the place needs a full renovation and all the furniture replaced. The cleaning staff need to learn how to mop or clean a bathroom, since there were still marks from the previous tenants in the toilet. I usually only review something if it's exceptionally good or bad. I went back and forth for a week about writing this, but the price for such poor accommodation still bothers me, so here I am.

We were very comfortable in the apartment. We only get together once a year to catch up and party, and there was plenty of space with a great layout. Some things do need work, though, and I had already told reception: the kitchen needs more dishes, and the shower was such a mess that it should have been treated with chlorine months ago. A soap dispenser and towel hooks would have been useful too. Sorry, the four of us are business owners and know what we're talking about. The local taxis were unbeatable for service and friendliness.

We still give it two stars because not everything was bad, but we definitely won't return. The apartment didn't meet our expectations, especially the cleanliness, with mold in the shower. We booked a package with towels and bed linen, yet there weren't enough towels, and reception never answered our request about it. The blankets and bedding were so thin that it was hard to manage without warm sleepwear. Reception seemed completely uninterested in our complaints.
