The people working here are so kind. I loved the hot chocolate, and the Kaiserschmarnn was good too, even though it was my first time trying it. It’s a really cozy place for lunch or a few drinks. 10/10!

Our family had a great dinner, and my son was very happy with the decent kids’ menu. I especially loved the Schweinenackensteak, the pork neck steak, which was absolutely delicious. The haxen bowl, or pork knuckle bowl, came with potatoes, coleslaw, and an amazing sweet mustard. We finished with kaiserschmarrn, fluffy pancakes with custard and apple sauce, and that was excellent too.

We shared three asparagus dishes when we visited in May. The white asparagus soup was my favorite, followed by the red beet dumplings, then the buratta and strawberry salad. The white burgundy and rosé were good as well. We sat outside with lap blankets and got a bit of a ski après feeling, though the service was somewhat confused.

We went twice during our stay in Winterberg and enjoyed both the food and our time there. We tried several things from the menu, and none disappointed. Good service and good food.
