The owners are so friendly, and the Bütow holiday apartment is lovely, with thoughtful furnishings. I’d gladly recommend it. The son’s ice cream parlor is well worth a visit too.

We keep coming back, and this is our third stay. The owners are warm and accommodating, and having a parking spot in the courtyard is a real plus. The apartments are simply but pleasantly furnished, with a perfectly fine kitchen and bathroom, and the value for money is the best in the region. The harbor is only a minute away, with fishing boats and a delicious Italian restaurant as well as a good Greek one. Walk about five minutes uphill and you’re in town, where you can shop, have a coffee, or just unwind. We love it here and highly recommend staying.

We’ve stayed at the Bütow holiday apartment several times since finding it by chance online, and we already look forward to our next Wismar trip. It feels like home to us, not just somewhere to stay. We also appreciate being able to book directly, without a booking portal. The Bütow family are always friendly, helpful, and easy to reach by phone. The apartment is well placed and easy to get to by train. You can walk to the town center and restaurants, or catch a bus right from the harbor. There’s also delicious ice cream and cake at the attached Bütow ice cream parlor. The city tours are worth doing too, especially if you’re a fan of the German TV series "Soko Wismar."
