The place is very close to the city center and Edeka supermarket, and everything was super clean and easy to deal with. The garden gets quite a lot of street noise, though, and the amenities are lacking.

We had plenty of room in this clean, lovely house, including spacious bedrooms and a nice garden. The kitchen is separate and has a dishwasher. The landlords were friendly. It’s within walking distance of town and makes an excellent base for visiting the Clara Mineral Hall and museum.

We found the location too noisy, with a busy main road outside and a very busy gas station that stays active late at night. Whether it deserves to be called a “spa town” with that road running right past is debatable, but see for yourselves. At first, the rental looked promising for our two families, four adults, three children, and a dog. There were plenty of rooms and beds on the two upper floors, a well-equipped kitchen, and a large ground-floor living room with a dining area. The garden and terrace were comfortable enough, and the landlord was friendly. But there was a backlog of repairs: in every room, something was broken or stuck, often more than one thing. The bigger problem was the landlord’s lack of respect for our privacy. Construction work had been planned and agreed on, and the landlord said it wouldn’t disrupt us. In practice, scaffolding was put up in front of and behind the house as announced, but the main entrance was only passable for very slim people. The terrace was covered in dirt and splinters, and it would have stayed that way if we hadn’t called the workers back. At 7:30 a.m., we got our wake-up call. While we were away, the landlord was working in the house with another man we didn’t know. Our computers, tablets, and other personal belongings were accessible to him. We consider that a serious breach of trust and simply unacceptable.
