At 8 p.m., after a long trip with our two children, we were simply turned away, even though rooms were available. We’d booked through Expedia, but on arrival they said they had blocked Expedia because they were afraid of attracting “strange Americans.” Then they said an American family with one child had already arrived, and there wasn’t room for us because we had two children. The cook, who was clearly the owner, was incredibly rude, unfriendly, xenophobic, and hostile to families. I can’t recommend this place.

We come to the restaurant often and usually really enjoy it, which makes this especially disappointing. For the second year running, we booked a table for New Year’s Eve and the reservation was forgotten. In 2025 we arrived as a group of six, despite having called to reconfirm three days earlier, and had to leave without dinner. The owner didn’t apologize or even acknowledge us. The waiter looked embarrassed, but couldn’t do anything.

You can see into the kitchen through a big window, and the hygiene while food is being prepared isn’t good. The male waiter acted self-important and only pretended to be friendly. He charged us twice for dishes and didn’t apologize.

The breakfast was excellent, and the owners were very friendly. We stayed at the Lindenhof overnight from November 15th to 16th, 2025, for my 9th class reunion nearby. It was very quiet around there.

The food is absolutely delicious, and I’ve always been made to feel welcome here. I’ve been coming for over 10 years, and they make a real effort to accommodate my requests. I highly recommend it. :-) Best regards to the Lindenhof Peritz team
