The owners are super welcoming and friendly, the rooms are spotless, and breakfast is awesome. There’s even a fridge with local beers to try ;) We’ll definitely be back. A perfect place to stay while visiting Bayerischer Wald NP!

We were greeted with a welcome drink at this lovely family-run guesthouse. The owners were friendly, and our room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. There’s a small farm next door. We called Emile the pig over to the fence and made friends with him. The goats and sheep were curious too and came to say hello.

The Schatzkisterl is a great base for hikes to places like Großer Arber, Falkenstein, and Großer Rachel. Although it’s right by the B11, I couldn’t hear the road at all. The drinks vending machine in the house is a smart idea, so drinks are always close at hand. A big thank you to Doreen and Martin. They’re incredibly warm and hospitable, take individual needs into account, and share local tips that add a lot to the holiday. You can see the care they put into every detail of the guesthouse. Breakfast was good; I did miss having some fruit, though I’m sure they would have brought some if I’d asked. Simply top-notch!

Everything was just right for us, from the warm welcome to meeting some lovely fellow holidaymakers. The lovingly prepared breakfast buffet was a wonderful way to start each day. A real holiday paradise. Thanks for a lovely time!
