CABINN City Hotel

My son had a job interview, and my wife was exhausted from jet lag. Since we couldn't get into our room for a while, she fell asleep in the lobby. A rude “security” guard woke her by touching and shaking her, shouting, “YOU CANNOT SLEEP HERE!!!” She tried to explain, but he just repeated it. Security in Copenhagen? It's safer and quieter here than a rural town. This is a low cost hotel charging the price of gold, like the F1 in France but 10 times more expensive. Leaving luggage costs A LOT too. If you charge so much while offering so little, at least be decent to people. Otherwise, don't run a hotel, choose another business.

Housekeeping came once during our four-night stay, which was more than enough for us. But when we got back that night, our door had been left ajar, where anyone walking by could have seen it. The hotel just casually said it must have been housekeeping. Staff were friendly enough, but service was very limited. Left luggage is paid, with options for one hour, six hours or much longer. Six hours cost around £7. You get what you pay for: the rooms are very basic and tiny, like a small ship's cabin. The bathroom is all in one small space, and the only shower is mounted on the ceiling, so ladies might want a shower cap if they aren't washing their hair.

The only thing going for this place was how close it is to the city centre. For the price, I'm sure other hotels nearby would have been a much better stay. We spent three nights in a room that was unbearably hot despite it being only 20°C outside, and there was no air conditioning. The synthetic filling in the bedding trapped even more heat. We knew the room would be small, but it felt unlivable. We just wanted to sleep and shower, yet there was no shower cabin, only a curtain, and barely enough space for one person to move comfortably. They didn't clean our room at all. We later learned you have to ask in advance, but no one told us. All we expected was a clean room, a usable shower and a decent night's sleep. We didn't get any of those.
