The apartment itself was pleasant to live in: minimal, fresh, spacious, and bright. The trouble was Charles Hope and its customer service. There’s no staff, check-in desk, or contact point at the Copenhagen apartments. Instead, keys are left in small boxes attached to different bike racks, and Charles Hope did a terrible job explaining where to find yours. I got the instructions a week before arrival, but the box was empty. The customer service number wasn’t included with the check-in information, so it took me a long time to track it down. Then I heard that all lines were busy for more than 20 minutes. When I finally reached someone, they were unhelpful and unresponsive. Other guests eventually got me into the apartment. They hadn’t received check-in details at all, but were speaking to a more responsive Charles Hope representative. Apparently the apartments had been reassigned at the last minute, leaving my key inaccessible, and nobody had told me. Charles Hope gave no explanation for the change, no apology, and no sign of concern. The apartment was nice, but the stress wasn’t worth it. As a hotel provider, Charles Hope was awful. Avoid. There were other smaller issues too. After the first day, the Wi-Fi stopped working, even after I tried turning it off and on repeatedly, so I had to use my phone data. The TV wasn’t connected to an antenna or anything else, leaving only streaming services I don’t subscribe to, apart from a free news channel on Rakuten TV.
