Villa Copenhagen

The continental breakfast was the highlight, with green smoothies, tasty meats and cheeses, salads, and fresh rolls from the bakery. They even had it available when we needed to catch a 7AM train. We also enjoyed the quiet location, even during a massive street festival, and it’s very walkable to the metro and regional train station. My husband and I stayed for a week on our honeymoon and will return the next time we visit Copenhagen. Thanks to our AMEX membership, we were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite. It was spacious, clean, and modern, with very comfortable beds and a bathroom vanity that was perfect for getting ready. Turn-down service was lovely, and staff quickly brought fresh towels and water for the nightstand. We used the pool for a nightcap, and the gym was small but clean and very functional.

Breakfast had lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, except for the cherry tomatoes somehow, plus fresh juices and plenty of vegan options on the main buffet. There was also a separate gluten-free and vegan table with filled vegan croissants, cold cuts, yogurts, and milk. Vegan items were clearly labelled. The bread and pastries from rug bakery were crazy good, and most of the hot food, like baked beans, potatoes, and mushrooms, was high quality. The pancakes disappointed me a bit. Add coffee and some eggs or other made-to-order dishes, and this could easily be one of my favorite hotel breakfasts. The building and courtyard are beautiful, and the rooms match. The heated pool and sauna were enjoyable. The hotel gym isn’t as good as a commercial one, but has an above-average range of equipment. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, from check-in and the concierge to the restaurant and breakfast teams. Food at the courtyard restaurant was good but a bit pricey. Sadly, Rug restaurant was closed for dinner on Sundays while we were there. The room was very clean, and I liked the interior design, though I personally dislike the lack of bathroom privacy. The walls are thin and the door is just a slider. We loved our stay here!

The rooftop and pool area looked really pretty, and the breakfast was incredible. The hotel was well appointed, with quite nice rooms. We had a wonderful stay, and the Saturday night fireworks were a great bonus.

The location beside Kobenhavn H station made getting around so easy, and the hotel felt almost like a little resort tucked into the city. We stayed nearly a week and had a fabulous time. Getting into our room early after a transatlantic red-eye was a huge help. The courtyard bar and lobby look stunning, and the staff there were quick and helpful. Their cocktails were great, too. The pool was a lovely temperature even on chilly spring mornings, and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was a bit cramped and could have used more clothing storage, but we managed just fine. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Copenhagen.
