The Huxley Copenhagen, BW Premier Collection

We had a lovely stay at The Huxley Copenhagen, with delicious breakfast and a really convenient location. The water was just a minute away, the bus stop two minutes away, and the Metro a five-minute walk. Both were always right on time. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and managed to be efficient, professional, and warm all at once. Thank you, we loved it.

The location was very good, quite close to the city center, but the stay was unfortunately disappointing. The price felt far too high for what was provided, and I don’t understand the 4-star rating on Booking.com. Our room was very small, there was no fridge, and we only got two hand towels and two large towels. They said the hotel policy was not to clean rooms regularly unless guests asked. I hadn’t been told to request it the day before. When I asked at 12:30pm, they said it was too late, and the extra towels I requested weren’t there when I got back. The bathroom was ridiculously small, with no shower door, though thankfully the heated floor dried the water fairly quickly. A strong smell came from the extractor whenever it was on. Breakfast was very basic, and even the pastries and pancakes seemed as if they’d been made the day before. Not a good experience, which was a shame because Copenhagen is a beautiful city with a lovely atmosphere.

The hotel was clean, and the staff were helpful. My room was small but functional, with fast free WiFi and a smart TV for Netflix or YouTube. Double-pane windows cut down the nearby construction noise a lot, and the towels were big and plush. It’s conveniently close to lots of sights, bakeries, restaurants, the metro, and buses. My only complaint was the shower: it had no door, and the tiny glass divider did little to stop water splashing toward the toilet.

The Huxley Copenhagen is peaceful despite being close to everything. The room was comfortable, the design elegant, and the breakfast had a wide, delicious selection. A perfect stay in the heart of Copenhagen!
