Turtle Lagoon Beach

Breakfast is simple but good, and the scrambled eggs taste just right. The staff provide good service, though they can seem a little shy in the restaurant. The room is spacious, and the bed is perfect for sleeping. The shower could be better: it's warm, but the pressure is weak. The location is great for a getaway. You can walk along the beach to Escondida, find the bush path, or head the other way toward Coson. All in all, I can recommend it.

The beach is only a few steps away, and the atmosphere stays lovely and quiet both day and night. It made for a very relaxing stay. The staff were extremely kind, and I was pleased with the service overall. The room and food were both nice. I'd stay here again anytime.

The bar and beach area were my favorite, and the pizza is so good! The staff are kind and helpful, the rooms are neat, and the pool is too. Everything is beautiful, relaxing, and fresh. I went with my family, so I don't know much about everything, but lunch wasn't included, only breakfast, which was awesome. I think including food would make it ten times better. I loved the experience and am telling all my friends. Definitely going back!

Playa Bonita itself is lovely, with a calm atmosphere, a surfing school, a few restaurants, and a good feel. But for the price they ask, I can't recommend the hotel. There are much better places to stay in Terrenas and the surrounding area. After 21 nights, I feel we had a long enough stay to judge. The grounds are nice, and the rooms are basic but okay and clean, though the equipment is quite old. The breakfast servers and cleaning ladies were really, really nice people. That's where the positives end. The worst problem was mosquitoes. There are no nets in the rooms, and we killed as many as 22 in one evening, while others kept biting us all night. The internet was slow and only worked in the lobby, so forget about a connection in your room. Only one girl at reception spoke English, and she obviously wasn't there all the time. There was no fridge in the room unless you paid extra for one. Breakfast was good but very, very basic for the room price. After a few days we got sick of eggs, toast, and the one kind of tea, which was sometimes missing. A couple of times there was no toast at all, so it was eggs for the whole stay. The pool was out of order for seven days, and the owners didn't even say sorry. Solar panels heat the water, so it's warm only in the daytime. That would be fine, but the pressure was really weak, and a couple of times there was no hot water at all. The owner smoked in the breakfast area while people, including kids, were eating. Even though it's an open space, it was really annoying. Some buildings are in terrible shape and look awful, and there are only a few lights in the evening compared with other hotels. It seems the owner doesn't put money back into the hotel.
