Suite Colonial by Cristi

I'm not a happy customer, and I don't feel this was handled fairly. I got back from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 a few days ago. While downtown in the Colonial Zone with my girlfriend, we were at a bar called the Rum museum. Around 11:30 pm to midnight, I booked a room at the Colinial cristi suite. The booking went through, and I got a confirmation on What's App. About an hour later, some friends arrived at the bar and told us they had rented a house with room for me and my wife. I tried to cancel through the website, but it wouldn't process the cancellation. I then tried calling the property, including the front desk number, and made several attempts through the site and the hotel phone numbers. Nobody answered. Two days later, my account was automatically charged $117.90, which seems ridiculous when the room was only $65 plus tax. I could understand a charge if I'd canceled during regular business hours, but this was around 1 am. Come on, let's be responsible. This isn't exceptional service, especially at that hour and given the circumstances. I'm asking for a full refund. Maybe I'll stay at your property next time I'm in town with friends and family, if someone is willing to answer customers' calls. The hotel had already sent a What's App message confirming the reservation and instructing me to ring the doorbell when I arrived. Someone should have been on site to answer my calls and deal with hotel matters. Sincerely.
