We were there as a family of three, my husband, daughter, and I, on Friday night, May 1, 2026, arriving around 9 PM. The security staff member was the one bright spot, as he was kind and tried to help us. The receptionist was rude and made remarks that felt discriminatory because we’re from Tunisia. We’d arrived late without Algerian dinars, explained this politely, and offered our passports as a guarantee. He wouldn’t accept that and kept speaking to us in an insulting, disrespectful way. When we said we might have to sleep outside, he said he didn’t care at all. We left and had to pay more for another hotel. Its staff let us bring the cash the next morning, so a reasonable solution was clearly possible. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this hotel.

Le Majestic has a lot of charm and elegance, and it feels tied to Annaba’s history. Some parts are dated, including the bathroom, though anyone who likes classic hotels might enjoy that. The room was huge and clean, with an air conditioner that was much needed. It worked, but was old and noisy. Staff were friendly and helpful, and most spoke English and French. Being close to central Annaba and the train station was another plus. I found the place delightful, though it may not suit everyone.

For 10K dzd, the place wasn’t very clean, the facilities were old, and the towels smelled as if they’d already been used.
