Casa de las Rosas

We spent a month at Casa Rosada, and it felt like a real welcome from the moment our taxi reached the charming green doors. Luis was waiting for us on the sidewalk, and Karina joined him to greet us. They took us to one of their favorite breakfast places and shared advice about getting around the neighborhood. They stayed easy to reach and keen to help throughout the month, with recommendations and useful resources. The Casa is spotless and comfortable, in a lively, lovely neighborhood. Our street was quiet, yet the historic center, tram, bakeries, cafes, and restaurants were all a short walk away.

This place is rubbish. We booked on trip.com after calling the hotel to confirm they had rooms, and they said they did. When we arrived, they had no room for us. The owner was disrespectful and arrogant, said there was no solution, and blamed us for not booking directly with the hotel. I don't understand why they use booking platforms if they can't handle them. The service was crap, and the owner was negligent with customers. I do not recommend it.

The place was clean, comfortable, very quiet, and pet-friendly. We had a huge bed, and all of us slept well. It's central and close to attractions, and when something was wrong, staff fixed it quickly. We had to call out for hot water in the shower, haha, but it was sorted right away. There was a hot water problem on our first night, which got fixed fast. The staff know the hotel isn't perfect and were attentive overall. One cleaner kept double-locking the door so we couldn't get in or out, and was rude when we asked her to leave it unlocked. I speak Spanish, so it wasn't a language issue. My husband was locked out for ten minutes one morning after taking our dog to the bathroom, which was really stressful. I told the main person, and he apologized profusely. When we came back later, a new staff member was being trained, and she was very kind. Sometimes there are bad employees, and I understand that. Other than that issue, everything was great.

We had a great suite for $70 a night, with two bedrooms and four beds, including a sofa bed, plus a kitchen, bathroom, and living room. The hotel also provides free breakfast. To get inside, you ring the bell and an employee comes to open the door.
