I only stayed one night. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and there was always hot water for showers. Bathrooms were okay, though a little dim. I appreciated having women's dorms, as well as dorms just for men. There was rarely anyone at reception, but we were meant to leave the room key there when going out. I wasn't sure how that was supposed to work, maybe when the last person leaves. The place is a bit worn down, with no curtains or personal lights and very basic rooms. The living room had plenty of chairs, but they didn't look very comfortable.

Whenever I'm in Cuenca, I stay at Yakumama for their Eggs Benedict and a good coffee. That meal always puts a smile on my face and makes me feel revived. It's my must-have city fix.

I came in for breakfast after my flight was cancelled and was welcomed right away by wonderful staff. I think it was the restaurant managers who greeted us and showed us to our table. The coffee was amazing, and every drink and dish made me forget about the cancelled flight. Everything looked and tasted fantastic. I usually don't like fruit in pancakes, but I think these had banana and nuts, and they were some of the best I've had. Every part of the meal was a 10/10. They have live entertainment at night, so I'd love to come back for dinner. For now, I'd recommend this spot 1000%, and hope to return next year.

The double room was $30 and looked nice, but the mattress was hard. There was a nice weighted blanket, and the bathroom was pleasant with hot water. The only outlet I found was in the bathroom, though, and they seem to have chosen the cheapest toilet seat and shower rod they could find. Music played until 1 in the morning, so it seems like a good party spot, but the sound carried right into the room.
