Hotel Boutique Casa Montalvo Cuenca

The breakfast by the garden every morning was so delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and professional. We spent a week at Casa Montalvo and loved it all. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more, and we’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Cuenca. Lynn and David

The peaceful atmosphere and comfortable bed and pillows gave us a great night’s sleep throughout our five nights at Casa Hotel Montalvo in October 2025. My wife and I love traveling, and this is one of our favorite stays ever. The location is ideal for exploring the Cuenca historic District. Each morning, we looked forward to the artistic gourmet breakfast in the lovely breakfast room, with beautiful murals overlooking courtyard flowers and birds. Wilmer and his staff welcomed us and were very helpful, and Andres shared some great ideas. They also arranged a terrific guide for our fabulous day trip to Cajas National Park. Working remotely was easy here: my partner and I had excellent Wi-Fi throughout our stay, with no speed or connection issues during video calls or online work. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with a cozy bed, a great mattress, and thoughtful little touches. Breakfast was fresh, generous, delicious, and made with care. This small, family-run Casa Montalvo Boutique Hotel is right in downtown Cuenca, close to restaurants, cafes, and main attractions. The team, especially Wilmer, helped with everything from local tips and restaurant and tour recommendations to arranging drivers. You can feel how much they care. We felt at home, and it was incredible value for money, one of our best experiences in Ecuador. We’d recommend it to anyone visiting Cuenca.

The room was lovely, the food outstanding, and the staff amazing. We stayed 11 days and loved our time at this hotel. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. Just beyond fabulous!
