It’s hard to beat for the price. The building clearly wasn’t designed as a hotel, but they’ve converted it nicely, and the rooms are clean. Service was fine and breakfast was good. You’re right among the Old Town sights, so it’s a good spot if that’s where you want to be. It gets noisy from sunrise until sunset, which is just how Old Town is.

The room was large and the bed was comfortable, but I found the place depressing, especially the staff. They were slow and grumpy, apart from the cute, young, skinny gal. There’s nowhere to put or hang clothes, no dresser or closet, and the bathroom tiles were kind of gross. There was no tub despite the advertisement. It cost about twice as much as comparable hotels in Cuenca.

The location is the one good thing. We didn’t mind paying for daytime parking, but when we needed the car at night, they couldn’t find the keys and kept us waiting over 30 minutes. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom either. If they improved the rest of the service, I’d give them a good review.

The only good thing here is the location. Staff were unfriendly, the towels were old, and the breakfast was the same as always, with cold coffee, stale bread, and so on. There’s no closet or anywhere to hang clothes, and the bathrooms have no soap or shampoo. They also tried to overcharge me when I arrived.

Parking is included overnight only. If you leave the car in that same lot during the day, the rate is extremely expensive. I suggest finding parking a couple of blocks farther down Gran Colombia, where it’s $3 for the whole day.
