We arrived at the apartment, but the hotel at that address was closed. After an hour and a half, we were told the apartment had been rented to another guest because we hadn't communicated. We'd spent two hours in Ecuador with a very bad 4G connection.

The rooms were listed as available on Booking.com, but I contacted the owner directly and had to wait for confirmation. By the next day, every room was full.
