The place is family owned, with very soft bed sheets and a good breakfast. There’s a large covered patio with ping pong, and the single room was $25 with breakfast. But the single room by the entrance, #7 I believe, on the bottom floor has no sound insulation at all. Since it’s right under the covered patio, sounds echo or get louder: the front gate clanging, the electric car gate grinding, and the owner setting off the car alarm, a full horn blast rather than a beep beep. The car is parked within 1 m of the room’s front door, behind a locked gate. Hot water in the shower lasted only a minute. I raised it twice with the owner, but it wasn’t fixed, and I don’t think they believed me. I spent the first night in one of the rooms in the home, where the floors are extremely squeaky, so it’s not recommended for light sleepers.

Lourdes was there to answer my questions, and I felt right at home. The accommodations and service were excellent, and the place is clean and comfortable. It’s family owned. I speak Spanish and could explore this part of Cuenca easily. There’s a supermaxi nearby and a tranvía stop.

The design is gorgeous, with all kinds of art, paintings, ornaments, and furniture. My room was very pretty and beyond comfortable, and the bathroom was great. Unlike many Cuenca hotels, the hot water was perfect. Breakfast was tasty, and they even have a ping pong table. The price was super affordable, much cheaper than I’d expect for a place of this caliber. I’ve been to Ecuador countless times and love coming to Cuenca, literally a gem in the Andes. I wanted to try somewhere new this time, read great things about this hotel, and I’m happy I came. Highly recommended!

When I first arrived in Ecuador, I stayed here for a month and was so glad to find such a wonderful place with caring hosts. Having a kitchen where I could make meals and keep late-night treats was nice. Highly recommended!
