Pepe's House Cuenca I Boutique Hotel

The rooms are big and the beds comfortable, and reception was helpful with questions and city advice. The Hostel is near the centre, but our room was cold at night and the duvet too thin. We could hear the street, and everything from the hallway, every word. Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep well.

Breakfast was excellent, fresh and plentiful, with homemade options. I also liked the small roof terrace for morning meditation and afternoon sun. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it’s a lovely B&B in a fantastic location. I found it expensive, though accommodation in Cuenca seems to be that way. I lost a star because when other guests were there for one night, I could hear people walking around and talking. There’s almost no soundproofing. The other nights I was the only guest, so it was perfectly quiet and comfortable.

Reception staff were helpful and found us parking nearby at a reasonable rate. We stayed three nights over Easter. The room looked lovely in the photos, but it was noisy from the street below and inconsiderate guests on the landing. The sheets were terrible, and the toilet bin hadn’t been emptied after the previous guests. Breakfast wasn’t great, just a buffet with poor coffee. For the price, I expected better.

The atmosphere was great, the staff amazing, and there was an adorable cat. The location was perfect. I stayed a few days with my mother and sister, and they loved it too. A 10/10 experience, would recommend!
