La Fontana

The management tried to sort things out by finding us another room elsewhere and giving us a discount, which we appreciated. Still, it was a pretty rough night and we left after just one night. We arrived at 9 pm, and despite receiving a confirmation email from a coordinator a month earlier, they couldn't find our reservation. The replacement room was very basic and not great, apparently one of the older rooms while the hotel is being renovated. A high pitched sound ran through it all night, so we needed earplugs and white noise to sleep. The air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was poor, with plastic cups and cutlery and juice that wasn't fresh. There's no business center, and the photos are out of date.

The hotel is right in the center, with restaurants and all the tourist spots within walking distance. The owner and staff were warm, easy to talk to, attentive, and keen to help. I was really pleased with the service and the room. I'd definitely return, and would give it more stars if I could.

For the price, it was okay. The bed was nice and there was hot water, and I didn't hear much road noise. I was there during renovations, so it wasn't quiet, though that work should be finished by now. Breakfast isn't included.

We stayed for 13 days and really enjoyed it. The hotel is very close to the malecon, and we walked there at night without ever feeling in danger. The service was very good, the cost was affordable, and the beds were comfortable. There was always hot water and air conditioning. There's no elevator, but we still had a great time and I'd return. Thank you very much.
