The staff made the hostel feel warm and homey. They were easy to talk to, helpful, and glad to share advice, while keeping things relaxed but professional. I spent three days here with my girlfriend in a clean, pleasant private room, and the shared spaces were clean too. I'd recommend staying here.

The garden was my favorite part, full of papaya trees and birds, and the staff were nice. The wooden room and bed were pleasant, but the kitchen smelled bad and was used by the caretakers' whole family. The bathroom could have been cleaner. This is Mindo, after all, right? 😀

There are two good kitchens where guests can make their own food, and the updated hostel has decent WiFi and plenty of hot water. It's very close to the town center. The host was exceptionally pleasant and did everything to make my stay great, with thoughtful personal touches that made the place feel like home. I can highly recommend it.

The room was tiny and dark, with no shelves. A table and chair were provided, but shelves would have been more useful. There was nowhere practical to dry clothes. A line outside isn't much help when it rains every day. The ground floor was noisy and chaotic: the owner's family lived there, kids played and screamed, and toys were everywhere. Our double room was on that floor beside the kitchen, which was meant to close at 10pm but was used all day. The kitchen was really dirty too. An uncovered whole fish sat there for three days and smelled so bad we avoided opening it.
