We got to make a video for Hostal Karukera and were impressed by the owner’s professionalism, the rooms, and the overall feel of the place. It’s right in the heart of Montañita and feels completely safe. The main nightclubs are a few blocks away, and the beach is under a three-minute walk. There are all sorts of shops nearby, including pharmacies, restaurants, and souvenir stores. Highly recommended.

The service was terrible. I’d booked through Booking.com and had a confirmed reservation, but they said I should have called to confirm, which I never did, and there was no room available. I had to find somewhere else after arriving, right in the middle of a holiday when everything was booked. My friends and I ran into this problem, so if they can’t manage reservations properly, using other search options is likely to cause trouble too.
