Each room has a hammock facing the ocean, and I loved being able to slow down there, listening to the waves or just unwinding. This little resort by the Pacific, run by Marcel and his team, gave me far more than I expected. It’s remote and peaceful, a real break from the bustle where time seems to pause. The comfort is simple and authentic. If you’re used to luxury hotels with the latest amenities, this is a different kind of luxury, focused on essentials and a sense of well-being rather than excess. The rooms, meals, fresh juices, quiet pool, and direct access to a pristine beach all fit that feeling. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I felt at home, whether writing, meditating, doing yoga, or enjoying the simple pleasures around me. A huge thank you to Marcel and the team for their wonderful hospitality. It’s more than a getaway, it’s an experience.

After a hectic stretch of travel, we spent a week at Un Dia to properly rest. Marcel kept in touch beforehand and made sure we had the directions and details we needed. There’s no need for travelers to worry about the news from Guayaquil. We landed at the lovely airport, rented a car, and enjoyed the beautiful hour-and-a-half drive to Un Dia. We felt completely safe the whole time. Our room looked out over the pool and gorgeous Pacific beach. The food and drinks were homemade, delicious, and very fairly priced. The staff treated us like VIPs, and we could happily have stayed indefinitely. It’s peaceful, laid-back, and restorative. I’d recommend a visit whether you’re on your own, with a partner, or with family. You’ll feel very welcome. Thanks, Un Dia team!

What stayed with us most was the attentive service. The staff were courteous, thoughtful, and went out of their way to help with whatever we needed. Un Dia has a lively, exotic atmosphere, with corners that make you want to explore and activities to get immersed in. Walking through the gate felt like entering another world, one that offers both adventure and relaxation. We had an unforgettable visit and can’t wait to make it a yearly tradition. We’ll be back.

Marcel and his team made everything easy, and brought so much warmth and laughter to the food and drinks. This was our favorite place to stay in Ecuador. The hotel is simple, with a beachy feel, but the hospitality made us relax and feel at home right away. There’s no AC and the room gets warm, but I still slept really well. The property and beach are beautiful, and the food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend!

The views were great, and after our hectic travels around Ecuador, we really needed somewhere to unwind by the beach. This place was just right, with a relaxed bar, fantastic food, and a peaceful feel. It’s a cab ride from Guayaquil, though it is a long one. Marcel, Jessie, and Ramona looked after us so well that we didn’t want to leave. Bliss by the ocean. Hopefully we’ll make it back.
