We were in Playas for work, and when my partner fell ill and couldn't drive back to Guayaquil, we decided to spend the night. At reception, we were quoted $20 a night. A few hours later, the man there said he'd assumed we only wanted the room for a few hours, so the price was $40. What did he take us for, people looking for an hourly motel? The room was tiny, with old sheets, no towels, and a stained sofa. It wasn't worth $40 at all. We paid the difference, but we're never coming back, and we'll warn everyone we know about places like this.

You're only steps from the beach, which is the best part. The rooms have what you need for a comfortable stay, and it's a nice spot to spend time with family. For a proper meal or a true five-star experience, though, I'd suggest eating somewhere else.

The sea is just a 5-meter walk away! My mother and I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights midweek, and the staff were excellent throughout. Everyone was friendly and knew how to sort out questions or problems. Emilio, who looked after us, was especially helpful. The pool looks just like the photos, and the food was very good, even for a picky eater like me. We'll be back for sure.
