I had a fantastic stay, and Daniela O. deserves special recognition. I bought a fairly large artwork from a local gallery, but the gallery couldn't help ship it back to the US. Daniela took charge with real care and professionalism, going out of her way to coordinate the shipping arrangements. Her help showed the kind of service this hotel offers. I’ll remember the kindness of the people I met, along with the trip itself. Thank you, Daniela.

The service was top notch, and everyone on staff was so friendly. Hotel Casa Gangotena surprised me. From the outside I wasn't expecting much, but walking in felt like stepping into another time and place, almost like Renaissance Italy. I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and I really love this one.

Skip this place. The concierge was openly hostile and told us the bar was closed for a "staff event" to keep us out. We went in anyway and found it almost empty. As business travelers and locals living abroad, we found that dishonesty and exclusion insulting. A concierge should help people feel welcome, not shut them out. Other venues nearby have much better city views and the genuine warmth and hospitality Quiteños are known for. This hotel doesn't reflect the true spirit of Quito.

The team kindly sorted out a booking mistake that I'd made, then kept exceeding what we expected. It's rare to find a place where the hospitality matches the rooms, food, and location, but this one does.

If you visit Quito often, you should come here at least once in your life. The food is good.
