This lodge offers a different experience than the others. While you are not as far deep in Amazonas you are more in the jungle while the others are more in the mangroves. Hugo our guide has been the best. Knowledge and friendly while his daughter Maria prepared great meals everyday. She even pleased us with a Maito a local dish when I asked if possible. The first afternoon we went in the jungle with headlamps. The next day we went 35 kms deep in and the chance to see a variety of birds,caimans, 4 type of monkeys, a sloth. Today it's New Year. We went piranhas fishing. Tonight since are the onl

The time was too short but they made it magical! My two guides Hugo and Gonzalez really made this trip adventurous but comfortable for me. Did not feel rushed in anyway , accommodation was clean, food was amazing and I got to spot loads of local animals. I would totally recommend

Visiting Cuyabeno Lodge was our best experience in Ecuador so far. The excursion programme is solid. We visited different sub-ecosystems to explore their plants and wildlife, and learned more about the indigenous people. The friendly naturalist guide accompanied us throughout our stay and pointed out many animals that we would have missed otherwise. He was very knowledgeable about the unique Cuyabeno ecosystem. The accommodation was basic, but better than we expected, considering that the lodge is in the middle of the jungle. The location is right on the Laguna Grande, which proved a convenien
