The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel was in a great spot. We stayed three nights and found the owner and staff so welcoming. They also kept everything clean and well maintained. A really lovely experience.
We really enjoyed the pool, and there’s also a jacuzzi if you let them know ahead so they can fill and heat it. Breakfast was included, with eggs made to order, plus yogurt, fruit, and juices that changed each day. Claudia and Jose were so attentive, and even packed breakfast for us when we had to leave at 6 a.m. for our flight. The downstairs room and the sea-view room were both great, and the AC worked well in each. The location is ideal, just a block from Charles Darwin and close to some of Puerto Ayora’s best restaurants.
The pool was a welcome extra on a hot day when we didn’t feel like going out. The staff were great and always helpful, and they paid attention to the details, from breakfast to keeping the room clean. It’s a small hotel close to the main street. If I’m back, this little oasis will be my first choice.
The place was spotless, from the rooms and pool to the breakfast and shared areas, which were cleaned often. The staff remembered us, checked in each day, and worked around our schedule for cleaning and breakfast. Breakfast was included and changed daily, and every meal was great. They made a vegan breakfast for my wife each morning, which really made her day. We’d love to come back and wouldn’t book anywhere but Acacia.
The breakfast was a big letdown for me, and sometimes stressful. You had to say in advance when you wanted it, and it was only served until 9 a.m., which didn’t suit sleeping in. The meal changed each day and tasted good, but there wasn’t a choice if you didn’t like that day’s dish. We stayed six nights and never got orange juice. For the price of a “Boutique Hotel,” I expected better, as did some Brazilian guests we met on the way to the airport. The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the hotel is in a good area near the shore and main tourist area. There was construction next door, though, so it wasn’t always quiet. Our room was roomy enough and mostly clean. The beds and pillows were very good, and I slept well despite chronic neck and back problems. Some practical things were frustrating. There were no outlets or light switches by the bed, making it awkward to charge devices or turn off the lights at night. The shower swung between hot and cold, and water spilled over its low edge even with low pressure. I mentioned this at reception several times, and I believe they tried to help. Our room was on the third floor with no elevator, which could be tiring for older guests or anyone with knee problems. The pool wasn’t heated, and the jacuzzi had to be requested 40 minutes ahead. Its water was only a little warm, never really hot.
