Fernandina Hotel & Spa Galápagos

The breakfast buffet had plenty of options, and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. Hotel Fernandina was the nicest place my friends and I stayed in Santa Cruz. The rooms feel modern and have what you need to be comfortable, with new bathrooms too. The hotel was clean and had a peaceful atmosphere. I had a fantastic stay and would come back on my next trip to the Galapagos.

We especially liked the spacious, modern rooms, with clean surroundings and great A/C. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help with our very early checkout. There’s a nice pool and a bar/restaurant across the street, where the staff were friendly too. One of the best hotels we stayed at in the Galapagos.

We booked through a tour and paid for full board, but at the hotel they told us meals weren’t included. The afternoon receptionist didn’t seem willing to help sort it out. The manager also handled us badly when we arrived for lunch and said we had no right to eat there, telling us to contact the tour operator. We spent hours going back and forth with the people who were supposed to be responsible, and after two days there was still no solution. A significant part of our vacation was lost to stress and poor treatment. If you want a smooth vacation, think carefully about this hotel.

It’s a nice hotel in a convenient location, and the staff were friendly. The roof does need attention, though. Whenever it rained, water leaked into room #21, and it was more than just a drip. We weren’t moved to another room.
