The staff were kind and helpful every time we dealt with them, and we ate at the restaurant twice. Everything we tried was good to excellent. On the morning of our early tour, they packed breakfast for us to take along and offered to do the same for lunch. We arrived around midday before our room was ready, which we'd expected. They welcomed us with a delicious drink and let us use an entire other suite to shower, change out of our flight clothes, and get comfortable. I've stayed in lots of hotels over the years and have never had such a gracious accommodation. When our room was ready, they showed us upstairs to a beautiful beach-front room, where we could see sea lions and smell the pizza oven working below. Some of the best service we've experienced in all our travels.

I was lucky to get married at this wonderful hotel, and my experience was amazing. The rooms were extremely nice and had great amenities. Rafael, who helped us with the wedding, is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and the whole staff was amazing. I can't recommend the place enough.

The beach where the sea lions gather is right below the hotel, and the location is great. I stayed in December and really enjoyed it. The staff were welcoming, and my standard room, though a little small, was lovely, with a good-sized bathroom and small balcony. The restaurant had a great view. It was a little pricier than some others, but the fresh pizza cooked in the outdoor oven was really tasty. There's a pool tucked between the rooms, so it has no view and doesn't feel very inviting. Some plants or something around it could help it feel more appealing, since the rest of the hotel has that sort of touch. I think kids would enjoy it anyway. It's more expensive than some places on the island and has a more luxurious feel. I considered Indigo next door, but I'm glad I picked Golden Bay. It felt more personal than a big chain, and I'd stay again.

Golden Bay's suite 302 was just perfect for us. Indigo next door has an Infiniti pool, but the sea lion sanctuary right in front of Golden Bay was amazing. I got to spend time watching the sea lions during pup season. Debra was top notch and made us feel so welcome. I think it's the best hotel on the island.

The room felt bright and roomy, and the bathroom was a decent size. From our balcony we looked straight out over a beach full of sea lions, which was fantastic. The manager came over to introduce himself, a nice touch. Breakfast was included, though we had to ask for it, and it was a take-what-you're-given setup.
