Hostal San Francisco

We were a group using three rooms, and every room went without water for over an hour. Staff kept telling us it would be back in two minutes. I was soaped up in the shower, and my roommate had to go downstairs four times to ask. Check-out is at 9am, they won't store luggage, and our ferry off the island wasn't until 3pm. That meant spending the whole morning sightseeing with our bags. Avoid this place.

Awful experience. The owners weren't welcoming, and the rooms looked nothing like the photos. One of us was already showering when the water ran out. His roommate went to reception four times and kept hearing that it would be just two more minutes. It ended up taking 25 minutes. We were told the concerts happening in front of the hostal would finish at 10pm, but they were still going at 00.03. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The location is perfect, but the owners were quite rude and unfriendly, and I felt uncomfortable staying there.

The owners lock the hostel entrance at 11 pm. If you want to go out after that, they might not agree to let you leave. Coming back in means shouting for several minutes until someone hears and chooses to open the door. They also wouldn't let my friend, who wasn't staying at the hostel, sit with me in the common area, so we had to sit out in the street. I found the owners unkind and, frankly, a bit crazy. I left soon after. There are better budget places on the island.
