Hostal Gosén

Having to walk between the two properties just to get the breakfast included with my booking was another hassle. I arrived tired from travelling, paid, and only later noticed I'd been charged 16.5% extra. When I queried it, the owners, who had previously communicated in English, suddenly stopped doing so. I had a confirmed reservation here, but on arrival they said there was a problem and sent me to another of their properties. It wasn't the best introduction to the island. I'd suggest staying somewhere else and reading the negative reviews first. I wish I had.

We cancelled our stay and emailed to let them know. They replied by accusing us of arriving in a taxi and leaving after seeing something on their camera system. I don't know what's going on there, but that felt extremely unprofessional. There are plenty of other places with better locations and polite owners who make an effort to accommodate guests. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Dirty sheets and towels, and a bed only 190 cm long, so my feet hung over the end. My room was beside the kitchen, where the smoothie machine and television came on at 6:20 every morning. The owner was rude, too. They require cash, which isn't advertised, so it ended up costing me more. Stay elsewhere if you want comfort and a happy visit to one of the most beautiful places on earth.

We were on the top floor, where the large shared balcony had a great view. The included breakfast was consistently good and had some variety, and the stay was much nicer than I expected. The shower kept swinging between extremely hot and very cold. There wasn't a mirror in the room either, which seemed fine until I tried to put on sunscreen.
